Collection: Lower Limbs – Hip, Leg, Knee and Ankle Support
Supporting the lower limbs is an essential part of correct body alignment and prevention of pressure sores. Muscle strain in knees, hyper extended feet and pressure sores in condyles and malleolus areas are very common in long term care. Professionals suggest using cushions to achieve lower limb abduction and knee separation for correct alignment and to avoid pressure to condyles.
Knee must be flexed slightly to decrease knee and hip extension and relax the lower back. Positioning cushions under knees also reduces lumber lordosis and relieves facet joint pains.
Using positioning cushions laterally to achieve a 30 degree tilt is recommended to relieve pressure in trochanteral (hip) and sacrum (bottom) areas.
We recommend T- Roll Support Pillow M230 – positioned under patients knees to achieve abduction. This reduces lumber lordosis and relieves facet join pains.
Multi-ChamberBolster Roll Pillow M096and Bolster Roll Pillow M056 - used as a T cushion for lower limbs abduction or as back support + knee and ankle separator or used as half moon cushion under knees.
