Super Dog Bone Microbead Support Cushion

The M198 Super Dog Bone cushion is a larger, approximately 50 cm long microbead support shaped with wider ends and a narrower centre. It can be arranged behind the neck or beside a limb as part of a comfortable resting position. Its longer shape distinguishes it from the smaller M195 dog-bone cushion.

Design and practical benefits

The flexible microbead filling moves within the cushion and adapts to the supported area. Its shape can help position it where a rectangular pillow would be bulky. It is a comfort and positioning aid, not a substitute for clinical pressure-care assessment, and it must not be placed where it restricts breathing or circulation.

Size, suitability and care

Choose the larger M198 where extra length is useful; compare M195 for a smaller version. Use a laundry bag and gentle cycle; do not iron or dry clean.

Choosing between the two Dog Bone sizes

The M198 is intended when the smaller M195 support does not provide enough length. At around 50 cm, it can extend further alongside a limb or behind the neck, but may be too large for a compact chair. Check the space available and arrange the cushion so its narrower centre is comfortable. A longer cushion does not necessarily provide more appropriate support for every person.

For care settings, inspect the seams and fabric before each use and keep the filling away from the mouth and airway if the cover is damaged. The cushion should be repositioned when needed rather than left pressing continuously against the same skin area.
